Flexibility at work

Being flexible in the workplace isn’t about being able to contort yourself into the office cupboard or being winning the limbo at the office Christmas party. Instead, flexibility is about being able to adapt and think quickly on your feet.

Flexibility in the workplace is about adapting successfully to changing situations and environments. You need to show a willingness to learn new techniques and take on new roles through your own initiative. No workplace environment ever stays the same, so you will need to be able to change your job role and responsibilities at short notice. Being able to multi-task and perform several tasks at once is also vital in the workplace.

Soft skills: the new asset for “digital” workers

In the current labour market, deeply modified by social integration and economic and cultural globalization, the development of soft skills — skills that are more social than technical— is a crucial part of fostering a dynamic workforce. These skills can be gained from past jobs, responsibilities, life experiences and personal interests. They can be even hidden and, when identified, they can help people become better contenders in job search as well as in the daily-working activities.

Creativity for Managers

The idea that Creativity is needed only by artists and dreamers is long gone. Nowadays managers are aware that to run a business, an administration, an office a lot of skills are required: flexibility, intuition, vision, inventiveness. In one word what managers need is Creativity.

Hubert Jaoui understood that almost thirty years ago and is spending his life explaining to others what creativity is and how useful it can be.

Here is an interesting definition by Hubert Jaoui:
